TREND ALERT: Brights are back!

Who else is counting down the days till April 12th? With normal life just around the corner, there's no better time to start planning your post-lockdown outfits. I always keep a lookout for the newest trends, and of course, that inspiration comes from the glitz and glamour of the runway. The most recent shows have of course been very different from usual. With some designers opting for a completely virtual show, and others having limited guests. I think this has allowed for a wave of creativity and will shape the haute couture industry forever. It's also been a great eye-opener for the brands and designers alike, most notably last year, when Gucci's head designer, Allessandro Michelle, shook up the fashion world by opting for two seasonless shows a year. Though Gucci is the only one so far to make this a permanent change, other designers such as Anthony Vaccarello at Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs and Dries Van Noten have removed shows from their calendar. Hopefully, we will see no change in the creative output, but with each brand launching 5 or more catwalk shows a year, this cycle is simply unsustainable.
While we know the high fashion world is still turning, we need to keep track of the trends and get planning for the most amazing Summer outfits. The recent runways have seen handbags of all shapes & sizes down the catwalk. But the incoming trend has to be the bright and bold hues we've seen dominating the handbag scene, this season is sure to be filled with eye-catching, rich colours. Fashion journalists from around the globe have commented on how Summer 2021 is bound to be filled with positivity and happiness, and what better way to reflect this than through our fashion? With Popsugar's fashion editor, Nneya Richards giving her take on this Summer's trends:
"But green isn't the only colour they're [brands] thinking of: bright fluorescent bags dominated the runway as highlighter accessories punctuated looks."
I've picked out my top three favourite handbags from recent shows, including designed from Chloé, Versacé and Fendi. The beautifully bold colours are simply stunning and will complement so many looks.

Here at Johnny Loves Rosie, we love taking inspiration from the catwalk, and now you can too! With the launch of our Hudson collection, you can add a statement look to your wardrobe, available in lemon, blue, green, nude and more!
